  • What will happen at my first visit?

We schedule the day of the initial visit depending on what the therapist would like to do: between 1 visit or multiple visits up to 3x a week for 4 weeks. Please arrive about 15 minutes before your first appointment and plan for it to last up to an hour and 15 minutes. (Follow-up appointments will usually last an hour.)

A typical first appointment will proceed as follows:

Paperwork: You will need to complete some paperwork covering your medical history and insurance. (If you'd like to complete it before you arrive, please locate it on our Patient Resources page.) We'll also make a copy of your insurance card and ask for a list of any medications you are currently taking.

Exam: A comprehensive evaluation of your overall health will include a discussion about any health concerns or chronic conditions. We will assess your physical capacity, range of motion, strength, and other factors. Please be sure to wear comfortable clothing that allows free movement for bending, stretching, and position changes. Ladies should avoid wearing skirts or bring a pair of shorts or pants to change into during the visit.

Treatment Plan: Following your health evaluation, your therapist will review the information and develop your personalized treatment plan. Depending on how long it takes to get any relevant testing results or medical records, this could take up to two weeks. Once the therapist has created a therapy plan, we will call to schedule your next appointment, which will include a thorough review of the treatment

recommendations and the start of your first therapy session. To learn more about how our physical therapists in Fargo, ND can help you, give us a call today!
